This year our Courtesy Boat Inspection (CBI) Program was our biggest ever! Beginning Memorial Day weekend and going through the end of September, we nearly doubled our hours of staffing this year to 2,189. Our 10 paid staff and 11 volunteers conducted 2,814 inspections on four lakes and ponds. Although they did find many hitchhiking plants on boats entering and exiting our lakes, none of the plants were invasive.
This year’s team of volunteers was our largest yet. They made a big impact keeping our lakes safe from invasive species, allowing us to expand our coverage an extra 244 hours.
