Courtesy Boat Inspections

Our Courtesy Boat Inspection Program (CBI) is a part of the statewide effort to prevent the spread of invasive aquatic plants.

CBIs are the “first line of defense,” preventing plant fragments found hitchhiking on boats and trailers from entering our lakes. Both paid and volunteer CBIs work at boat launches throughout the watershed, talking with boaters and inspecting their watercraft as they launch and remove their boats. All plants found on boats, trailers and gear are removed, and suspicious plants are sent in for identification.
