Welcome Miriam Nelson, Community Engagement and Development Coordinator

June 24, 2026

Miriam joined our team in May, bringing a rich background in collaborative environmental projects, social science research, partnership building, and community outreach. Prior to this role, she coordinated community-engaged water security programs across Northern Arizona. Having grown up in Maine, Miriam holds a master’s degree in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University and bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the College of Saint Benedict.

In her role as Community Engagement and Development Coordinator, Miriam will focus on cultivating community partnerships and supporting our fundraising. She will manage 30 Mile’s communications and oversee the planning of our public events, trainings, and collaborative programs.

Miriam enjoys spending her time off trail running, swimming, birdwatching, and baking.
