Courtesy Boat Inspections

Our Courtesy Boat Inspection Program (CBI) is a part of a statewide effort to prevent the spread of invasive aquatic plants. CBIs are the “first line of defense,” preventing plant fragments found hitchhiking on boats and trailers from entering our lakes. Both paid and volunteer CBIs work at boat launches throughout the watershed, talking with boaters and inspecting their watercraft as they launch and remove their boats. All plants found on boats, trailers and gear are removed, and suspicious plants are sent in for identification.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Courtesy Boat Inspector for the 2020 summer season, visit our Volunteer page and contact us today!

Or please consider making a donation to receive a Voluntary Milfoil Sticker to display on your canoe, kayak, or sailboat.
