Essay Contest

Calling All Area High School Students! 

It’s time for our 2nd Annual Essay Contest.  If you live in a town within the 30 Mile River Watershed and/or are a high school student at Kents Hill, Leavitt, Maranacook, Mt. Blue, or Spruce Mountain, submit your essay today!

Respond to the following in 500 words or less: 

  • What does it mean to be good stewards of our lakes?

  • What role will YOU play to ensure that our lakes will be clean and healthy in the future?

  • Describe your favorite lake and what makes it worth protecting.

Prizes:

1st Place – $250

2nd Place – $100

3rd Place – $50

Winners will be announced on Friday, June 8th.

 

Essays must be submitted by Friday, May 25th as a word document (.doc, .docx) and must contain a title, your name, your town, and your high school.
