30 Mile River Paddle
Trek

Mile River Watershed Association
Paddlers may join for
all or part of this 12-mile paddle from Mt. Vernon Village to Wayne Village,
traveling through many of the lakes that form the chain known as the 30 Mile
River.
Beginning at Minnehonk
Lake in Mt. Vernon, the trip route continues down Hopkins Pond, Hopkins Stream,
Taylor Pond, Echo Lake and its Mill Pond, Lovejoy Pond, Jennings Stream,
Pickerel Pond, and Pocasset Lake, ending in Wayne.
The event is split into
four parts – with the option of paddling one, two, three or all four parts.
Paddlers may join the group at any of the four meeting points, and return
shuttles will be available at the ends of Parts 2, 3 and 4.

Schedule
7:00 Meet at the Minnehonk Public Beach (Mt. Vernon Village) to inspect boats for invasive plants, and meet with trip leaders for overview. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO GET YOUR BOAT UNLOADED AND GEAR ORGANIZED. WE NEED TO LEAVE ON TIME.
7:15 Part 1:
Minnehonk, Hopkins Pond, Hopkins Stream, to Taylor Pond Boat Launch (at the
Chimney in West Mt. Vernon)
8:30 For those beginning the trip with
Part 2 – meet at the Echo Lake public
boat launch (at Chimney) to inspect boats for invasive plants and meet with trip
leaders for overview.
